The war of roses lasted from 1455-1487,
It was between the Yorks and the Lancastrians, just after the 100 years war.

Where was it fought?
Most of the war was fought in England.

Why is it called the war of roses?
This war is called the war of roses because the national symbol for each is a rose. The yorks have a white rose and the Lancastrians have a red rose.
Why was it fought?
The war of roses was caused when the duke of the

What events occurred before and after?
One event that occurred before the war of roses was the 100 years war. The war of roses was fought by England and Normandy, 1337-1453. This battle was fought along the English Channel.
Not too long after the end of the war Christopher Columbus discovered the West Indies, 1492.

What impact did it have on our society today?
Today we all have equal power and we are a free country.
What impact did it have in the middle ages?
When you go to war you must pay for the items needed for battle. So they must tax higher to earn the money for the items needed. Eventually the town can not pay the taxes and soon lose houses.
Who was involved?
Richard III, duke of Yorks and Henry IV, king of Europe.
How did it stop?
Richard III died.
